Yes, and you'll feel it for years. Good ceramics are stronger, they look more natural in different light, and they keep their colour. A precise material also fits better at the edge of the tooth, which helps protect the tooth underneath. That's why we work only with named brands and keep the details of what goes in your mouth on file. You can't see the difference on day one, but you can over time.

Both are excellent; they're just good at different things. E-max is a glass ceramic. It's very translucent, so it's often my choice for front teeth where appearance matters most. Zirconia is extremely strong, so it's ideal for back teeth, for bridges, and for people with a strong bite. Modern zirconia can also look very natural. In many cases we use both in the same mouth, each where it works best.

It starts with careful preparation of the tooth and an accurate digital scan. The edge of the crown has to meet the tooth smoothly, with no gap and no step, because that's where problems can start. We check the fit on the model, then in your mouth during the try-in, and we adjust until it's right. A well-fitting crown is something you stop noticing after a few days.

Because your teeth have to work, not just look good. If new teeth meet the opposite teeth in the wrong way, you may feel it in your jaw or muscles, and the teeth take more stress than they should. So when I plan a case, I look at how your teeth come together, how your jaw moves and how you chew. A beautiful smile that feels comfortable is the real result.

After your scan, the crowns are designed digitally and then milled from a solid block of ceramic. That's only the start. Our technicians then shape the details by hand, adjust the surface texture and layer the colour so it matches your teeth. I work closely with them: I share photos and notes about your shade and what we're aiming for. That collaboration is a big part of why the result looks natural.

Yes, but grinding changes how we plan. Worn teeth often mean the bite has lost height, so we may need to restore that carefully. We choose stronger materials, usually zirconia, for the areas under most pressure, and we design the bite so the forces are spread evenly. After treatment I usually recommend a night guard to protect both your new teeth and your jaw.
